I'm using Windows 7 64 bit Laptop. I'm using McAfee Security Center. I'm facing a similar situation that caused the same issue about a month ago and it was rectified by one of your representatives during my call.
Yesterday I was watching an youtube video and suddenly I got a message that your computer is at Risk, When I check status it says "Real Time Scanning Off" and when I 'Turn On" that, it just runs busy all the time. I also downloaded MVT to find out that "Pending: DAT out of date".
Because of which my Solve PC issues Action Center says Spyware and unwanted software protection as well as Virus protection is not switched on. When I try doing that from the action center, the system hangs.
Please help fix this issue.

You could be infected run a mcafee and a stinger scan as well as Malwarebytres
Then best contact Mcafee support on the links show in the useful links tab above. See what they say.
Maybe a reinstall is needed.
Hi - First timer here!!!!!
I've got a similar DAT problem. At Risk pop up shows up; I've run MVT and spent 2 hrs yesteday on the phone - the Techmaster emails suggest that it's a Service Pack problem, not McAfee issue and there's a cost involved to rectify.
I've updated Windows (inc service pack1), run the MTV again and my DAT is out of date - I have DAT 6745 and need DAT 6752 apparently.
Any ideas anyone.
and update the dat manually using the 6752xdat.exe file read the readme.
See if that helps
By at risk popup is that real time scanner disabled or old dat warning
I've run the update exe etc and the MVT shows that there are no issues - however the pop up is still showing At Risk; Although I click on ACTIVATE, nothig happens, I can't get into the details to check or amend anything. I'm not aa technical person and I'm concerned that Mcafee is now telling me that everything's OK - but then the pop up says otherwise. Tech master just seemed to want to charge me for resolving the matter - but having checked the communities links, this seems to happen a fair bit!!!! Any suggestions regarding covered / not covered and removal of the Pop Up.
There is an FAQ that seems to have been withdrawn. The 1st fix it mentioned was try a manual update. I am asking the techs more in our mod call in tomorrow.
Really Mcafee support should have been the place to help it is a mcafee issue so i would have thought.Message was edited by: Peacekeeper on 25/06/12 7:22:59 PM
Hi. Many thanks for your ongoing support. I've tried the link to the faq and the only problem I have is that I can't get access to the internet security centre. It comes up but I can't make any changes. I can't activate using the button. I can't change the features at all. It's merely a dialogue box that pops up and tells me I'm at risk. I think I'll have to take it into a local dealer as I'm getting annoyed with it and with McAfees attitude to be honest. I thought I was paying for something that at least worked and was tried and tested.,
I would try the last option on that FAQ reinsatall mcafee worth a try. That is free....
After following the uninstall path reboot and run
reinstall Mcafee from your account.
