Computer restarts while browsing internet

I recently installed At&T security suite powered by Mcafee.
Since then my computer restarts for no apparent reason when I am on the internet. This also happens when trying to download Mcafee chat manager so i am unable to chat with a technician.
I have windows XP; Security centre v9.15; virus scan V.13.15 and personal firewall v.10.15.
Any help would be appreciated.

Please confirm the following;
Do you receive any Warning (virus/Trojan) pop ups on the computer?
Do you find any changes in your computer performance nowadays?

Moved from SC 9 to Virus Discussions. I trust that this is XP SP3, if not read here: http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?t=220807 .

Try installing the free version of these two tools. Update them and then run and let them remove anything they find and reboot if asked to.

If you have problems surfing to those sites in regular mode try doing it in "Safe Mode With Networking" reached by tapping F8 while booting up.

The second application, Malwarebytes, can also be run in that mode if need be.

I do not see any pop ups or warnings. Performance is slower since installing Mcafee.
The computer restarts when pressing links while browsing the internet. There does not appear to be any pattern or specific links that cause this.
