Computer is shutting down every time a virus scan is run

My computer is shutting down everytime I run a virus scan with Trend Micro housecall or kapersky labs scanner or Mcafee (from Comcast). I'm assuming it is a virus, but I can't pinpoint it. The Scan gets most of the way through then the computer shuts down. So far I have run malwarebytes, CCleaner, ATFcleaner, trojan remover, disabled system restore, but haven't been able to get rid of it yet. I did a search but couldn't find anything that seemed similar on the forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Computer is shutting down every time a virus scan is run

I presume all those other are online scanners. Don't ever have 2 anti-virus applications installed together.

Scan using the free versions of the following and let them clean anything they find:
http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Other than that there is a possibility that there is a hardware problem and/or an overheating issue.

I ran the Superantispyware and the computer shutdown. Malwarebytes completes successfully, but doesn't find anything.

I assume it is not a Virus... it has to be problem with file or a filetype of a file.. if you could identify the position( file that is being scanned) when the computer shut downs.. it'd be gr*.. and then delte the file and try running a scan again...
