Asking me to remove current program?

I'm pretty sure this is a duh question, but I can't find anything on it in a search......Will McAfee ever ask me (via pop up at start up) to uninstall my current version before loading an update?

I suspect it's not valid (and rather brilliant to get me to remove any protection)......but before I blow it off, I wanted to ask......just in case.....never say never.

It shouldn't do that.  The only time it would prompt for removal is if it was a product that may clash such as Norton anti-virus for instance.
