Artemis!9A57776C5311

Hey,

I have a problem: starting this morning, mcafee detects the following trojan Artemis!9A57776C5311, tells me it's removed, but finds it again 5 sec later! Is it one of those false positives or is it really dangerous and what do I do? I installed mcafee yesterday at my friend's place and the moment I logged in at my home this morning, problems started!

I hope someone here can give me an answer!

Thank you!

Re: Artemis!9A57776C5311

Hi Bergsee,

The file received is infected and can be detected and removed with our current DAT files and engine. It is recommended that you update your DAT and engine files and scan your computer again.

Engine and DAT updates are available at:
<http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/dat.asp>

In future please submit the sample for analysis, in a password-protected ZIP file (password - infected).
You can find detailed instructions for how to do this at <http://vil.mcafeesecurity.com/vil/submit-sample.aspx>

If you have any further query, please feel free to drop us email to virus_research@avertlabs.com
