Artemis!58E9DB5A67CB False positive detected on WinZip site during download of WinZip 18.0

McAfee Gurus:

My verison of McAfee is detecting the above-referenced false positive while downloading the latest update to WinZip, WinZIP 18.0. Please advise if this is included in your current list of fixes and if we might expect a solution in the near future.

Hi wmeinwe,

I am no " Guru" by no means. However after doing a search on the above mentioned Artemis Detection. Sophos detects this as (Troj/Agent-RAQ). Being uncertain if you are using a Consumer version of McAfee, or not. One quick way to assist you and submittal of this file to McAfee, is by running the Latest Getsusp tool. Also you may want to visit the link to Microsoft in this other thread, in which I posted in regards to another "Artemis Detection".

Hopefully one with more knowledge will pick up this thread, and assist.

As CD says try the getsusp tool and they will test anything found by it

Getsusp here

McAfee Communities: Anti-Spyware/Malware & Hijacker Tools

That ssaid you can submit the file as per

http://vil.nai.com/vil/submit-sample.aspx

When you get the auto reply saying it is infected reply to it changing the subject to false +ve and name of detection say why you feel it is safe and post the analysis id number here after you send off the email. If no fix in 4 days post back and I will chase up a tech to sort things out.
