I performed a full virus scan and deleted 12 files but Antivirus Plus is here to stay. How do I get rid of this?? McAfee scans won't pick it up so I just need help getting rid of it please. If anyone has had this virus or has any insight please help
The term Zero-Day Attack refers to new types of threats and malware that are released before any security software vendor is aware of them and has time to add detections and proactive protection.There is usually a 24 to 72 hour window of vulnerability when a new type of threat is released.This infection in your computer seems to be a recent outbreak or might be due to a click in any malicious website. I would recommend running the stinger utlity , please follow the below steps to run this advanced scan;
1.Download the Stinger tool from the link below:
2. Double-click Stinger and select Preferences.
3. Enable the Report Applications option.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Scan Now and allow the scan to complete.
NOTE: During the scan, you may receive a clean error during on certain .cab files. Ignore the error and allow the scan to complete. The files will be removed when the system is restarted.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Run Stinger again using the steps above.
When scanning with the Stinger, it would be helpful to set the "network Heuristic" to very high. (be aware of increased chance of false detections) But it will ensure you do detect more up to date threats found in our database.
The procedures for removing Antivirus Plus are listed in the link below:
They involve the use of "rkill" and Malwarebytes.
Hope this helps.
