331 problems using Registry Machanic.

Jump to solution

I downloaded PC tools, registry mechanic, from Majorgeeks.com

And apparently I have 331 problems when I did a scan on it.

ALL of them are, either High, Medium or Low priority, but they all say Highlighted Value is Missing or invalid..

Does that mean I have 331 keyloggers?

Or what?

Probably not but as it's Registry Mechanic finding you should ask them about it http://www.pctools.com/contact/support/product/registry-mechanic/

or their forums http://www.pctools.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9

However, that said, you may wish to follow this document to see if it helps at all and bear in mind, Registry Mechanic can be in error & it isn't a malware detector, but rather a cleanup tool and as such can sometimes remove essential files.

That's why I stopped using any kind of registry cleaner or optimizer ages ago.

Ah thanks, I was just wondering because Malwarebytes and McAfee couldn't find anything so I was like, what?

How do I know if there is a keylogger on my computer that Malwarebytes or Mcafee can't detect?

If you know the location of the file you can submit it for analysis to McAfee as per: http://vil.nai.com/vil/submit-sample.aspx

Alternatively......

Use Hijackthis and post its log on one of these independent forums for expert analysis:

DOWNLOAD HIJACKTHIS

Do not post the log here, we can't help!

Post the logs at a specialist Forum:

I don't think I've actually got a keylogger, I just thought I had one.

Because I clicked on an image and the picture of the fake scan saying I had 209 trojans, I ran Mcafee, non.

I just thought I had one...

So nothing shows up on Mcafee or Malwarebytes, I should be good right?
