macOS Sierra 10.12 and McAfee Agent

I am trying to install the McAfee Agent on a macOS Sierra 10.12 beta system. The installation completes but I get an error message when I try to interact with the agent:

sudo /Library/McAfee/cma/bin/cmdagent -i

Failed to get ma info, error code <507>

I'm assuming that Apple changed something in the way that the OS works and that is what is causing the agent issues.

Has anyone been able to get the agent to work under macOS Sierra? Does anyone know the timelines when McAfee will officially support Sierra?

/Kevin

I moved this to Business > Mac and Linux Products for better response.

If there is another area you consider better, please let me know.

Re: macOS Sierra 10.12 and McAfee Agent

Hi Kevin -

I can't speak to the exact supported version for macOS Sierra, but I can tell you that there is a beta available of ENS 10 Mac which will be supported on macOS Sierra. Please reach out to your account team and they can work with the PM team to you the download information.

Re: macOS Sierra 10.12 and McAfee Agent

Hi Kevin

On Sierra we need to have MA 5.0.4 which we are bundling with EnSM 10.2.1.

If you have further questions , please reach out to our Beta mail id  MB EndpointSecurityMacBeta <_328367@McAfee.com>

Thanks

Will EPM eventually be compatible with Sierra?   Or does ENS 10.2.1 replace EPM product line?

EPM is not being updated to support macOS Sierra. ENS 10.2.1 is the currently supported product for macOS Sierra.

Re: macOS Sierra 10.12 and McAfee Agent

Can we upgrade from EPM 2.3 straight to ENS 10.2.1?

Yes you can upgrade from EPM 2.3 to ENS 10.2.1. You have to upgrade both MA and ENS Mac.

Thanks,

Vineet

Re: macOS Sierra 10.12 and McAfee Agent

Just found the release notes and it states the supported agent is 5.0.4 build 283.5. Last week, we deployed agent 5.0.4.283 to all our ePO managed Mac systems. We don't have one that that states build number 283.5. Just checked under our grant and we have the latest version. Is there another build of 5.0.4.283 coming out?
