force policy check on Mac MA 4.5p1

Jump to solution

Running MA 4.5.0.1453.

Is there anyway to get the agent to check and enforce  new policies like you can in windows?

Thanks

Jane

Jane,

You can go to /Library/McAfee/cma/bin

and execute from terminal

sudo ./cmdagent

that gives you the options available.

You can do the following:

Collect Full Props

Enforce local Policies and Tasks

Update and enforce new policies and tasks from ePO

Send events

The last option which says "Show GUI" doesnt work as yet because we dont have a UI as yet. But it is a placeholder for UI to be available in the future.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Sudeep

Nopes....

I think MA 4.6 might have that feature.

I'll check and let you know.

OK- I now have a test machine with MA 4.6.0.1694.

I have looked through the docs and can't find anything.

Not being a Mac person doesn't really help, so is there a  way to force check for new policies or force props from the client at all? etc- basically most of the functions you can do on a windows machine.

Thanks

This is a bump.

Is there a way to do this remotely?  For example, if you had the agent running and was successfully reporting back to ePO, but you did not have SSH or terminal access to the device?  Is there a way to force them to check in and enforce the policies?
