ePO: Threat Event Log > Event Category > Operational

Jump to solution

I'm receiving a lot of "Operational" events in "Threat Event Log" and i can't understand the meaning of them.

Could smbdy explain in details the nature of these events?

Hello @Mykyta

OAS/ODS

Scan reports general system error (Info)

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB88351&locale=en_US

This event is generated because ENSL goes to scan the file but the file is either no longer in the scan queue or has a lock on it and ENSL can't get to the file.  This is a normal process and if you are getting a lot of these errors then putting in exclusions is the way to reduce the number.

Hope this helps!

"…then putting in exclusions is the way to reduce the number."

Actually, I already have added the exclusions. And policies also have been applied to the systems.

Adding the exclusions will tell OAS not scan that specific path/File.

If you have already applied exclusions but still files are getting scanned then, I would suggest you to raise a ticket with McAfee Technical Support with ENSL MER Log file to investigate.

Generally the reported Event ID comes when the file is not present while scanning.
