Scripting Threat Prevention ODS Results

Jump to solution

Looking to see if there is a method of parsing the ODS Results.

I posted my original question here and was recommended to come here for further support and/or workarounds.

Is there a way to easily find scan results.  At the moment, things either seem to get written to the ODS Report Archive, to syslog if there are files quarantined, or to a running mfetpd.log as a report summary.

Currently, I am looking to script (with Python) running an ODS Report when a file arrives on to the server.  I then want to immediately check results.  As it is now, I would need to parse the logs for results, which is doable, but probably not ideal.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi @Gark,

Good day to you!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to redirect the logs to write to a different path or file as the product is hard coded to write the ODS results to the ODS report path.

Apart from this, the scan results are also logged in the mfetpd.log, which can be found under the below path:

For ENSLTP version 10.6.6 and above:

/var/McAfee/ens/log/tp/mfetpd.log

For ENSLTP versions below 10.6.6:

/opt/isec/ens/threatprevention/var/

I hope this helps.

Regards,

AJ
