OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

Dear Team,

We have successfully installed VSEL 1.9.2/2.0.2 and McAfee agent on CentOS/Redhat and Ubuntu server and all works fine and we can see the status of the OAS through web monitor.

However when we try to check the status of OAS compliance parameter through epo console i am not able to find any details.

Kindly let us know if i can monitor the OAS compliance through epo console for Linux server.

Also let us know the parameters we can report for Linux servers like in widows we have below parameters monitored.

McAfee

VSE Installation compliance

HIPS Installation compliance

Unmanaged Machines

OAS compliance

VSE DAT compliance

Engine Version compliance

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

What version VSEL Product and Reports extensions do you have installed in ePO. (latest from Software Manager)???

Check Queries & Reports - Query Tab - "quick find" Compliance -  you should have query listed below your VSE: Version 8.8 Compliance.

The Query name is  "VSEL: VirusScan Enterprise for Linux Compliance"

Re: OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

All epo 4.6x versions are EOL  - please see

Intel Security Product & Technology Support Lifecycle – End of Life (EOL) – End of Support | Intel S...

From "Select Product" drop down list select ePolicy Orchestrator.

For products such as VSEL you need to install the VSEL Product and Reports Extensions.

(e.g LYNXSHLDMETA.zip and LYNXSHLDParser.zip in the VSEL 1.9.2 Download Package)

Latest RTW versions of extensions are always in ePO Software Manager.

Re: OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

The earliest ePO I have is in an old VM and is version 4.6.8.

The 192 package extensions installed OK.

The details will depend on :-

- the events are received from McAfee Agent on the Linux Machines.

- the events are processed in eventparser/vselparser in ePO (epo eventparser.log)

If this is working then the Compliance Query mentioned above is available

If your asking for a 100% guarantee that everything will work smoothly on an EOL ePO version ... I'm afraid I can't provide.

All testing on 4.6.x ceased when they went EOL.

Re: OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

Thank you

Does EPO version is 4.6.7 support OAS reporting by default.

Re: OAS not reporting in EPO console for Linux servers

ePO 4.6.7 does not have compatible VSEL 1.9.2 Product and Reports Extension installed as default - so no it cannot report VSEL events.

They need to be added - otherwise the VSEL events uploaded by McAfee Agent to ePO will not get processed (they'll end up in <epo>\db\events\unknown or debug folders) and there will be no VSEL specific queries in "Queries & Reports" section of ePO.
