Re: McAfee CPU utilization ENS for linux 10.6.4- Using high CPU

Hi @dileepvn,

Good day to you!

The screenshot that you have attached shows the platform service of ENSLTP is using 100% CPU, this could be at the time of DAT updates. Based on the process name, I can confirm that you are in an ENS version earlier to 10.6.6.

Please check and confirm if the exclusions that you have for VSEL has been applied to ENSL?

We first recommend you to update the default suggested extension based exclusions for ENSL, the details are in the below article.

The CPU usage that you have mentioned, does it happen often, or is it intermittent, or does it happen only when you perform certain actions?

If the issue is reproducible on demand, you can enable the OAS activity monitor log, that should help us find out the files that we are scanning often add those file to the exclusions if they are found to be safe.

You might need to consider checking the kernel compatibility first.

We would also recommend you consider upgrading the ENSLTP version to the latest to ensure you face the issue on the latest version too.

If you have done all of the above-mentioned steps and if you are still facing the issue, please open a service request to investigate this further.
