Hi there,
I work from home on a work-issued (PC) computer, but occasionally I've had to do some work-related stuff from my personal (Mac) computer. We have McAfee installed on our work computers, but I just noticed McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac pop up on my own personal computer. I don't remember installing it, but then again it's very possible I might've.
I'd like to uninstall the program because I have no use for it on my personal computer. Besides the fact that it serves no purpose on my Mac, it makes me feel weird - can they monitor my online activity remotely with this software? For work, that's fine - but my personal computer feels like a major violation of privacy.
I've tried uninstalling the program several different ways, with no luck. So what steps do I have to take to get it removed completely from my computer?
Hoping someone can help me out here!

No the MCPR tool wont work for a MAC nor any Enterprise product.
Thanks as I assumed the same thing 😉
I'm assuming this is an unmanaged install (not managed by a centralised server and the McAfee Agent).
You must be running with Administrative rights on your Mac.

Richard,
Thank you for the quick reply! Unfortunately, when I follow your suggestion, I am given an "Uninstallation Failed..." message.
I'm combing through the guide you linked above, but if you can think of any other quick fixes I'd sure appreciate it!
Hi,
Between steps 1 and 2 try elevating to root using:
sudo -su root
then run the command in step 2

Rich
Apologies for my ineptitude here (not very tech savvy) - I should now enter sudo -su root/usr/local/McAfee/uninstall EPM and then enter, then my password (and enter)?
