How to remove Endpoint Protection for Mac

Jump to solution

Hi All.

I am trying to remove Endpoint Protection for Mac using the command line refered in the PD

sudo /usr/local/McAfee/uninstall EPM

but I don't get prompted for the Access Protection password, I get

Uninstallation failed ...

Could someone point me in the direction of the Log File to give me some idea what failed, or another process to remove EPM?

Many Thanks

I have had a Response from support:

$ sudo su – root

Enter the password :- ?

# /usr/local/McAfee/uninstall EPM

I'll test this next week and report back.

Hi,

Running the command as the root user solved the problem and I was prompted for the ePO Password, once entered the product successfully uninstalled.

Re: How to remove Endpoint Protection for Mac

Hi,

It could be applied to stand alone installation without EPO ? Im trying to get the 2.1 version uninstalled from Yosemite and having the same "Uninstallation failed" message using root or not.

Also when I've tried to run the command from /usr/local/McAfee folder says " URL is not uninstallable: EPM "

Any suggestion ?

Thanks a lot

Hi, ihnestorenko!

This version of the Mac must support DLP Endpoint 9.4. The release of the beta version is scheduled for mid-February. It remains to be patience and wait :-)

Kind regards.
