Cannot install LiveSafe on OS X 10.10.2

Receive the following error message when attempting to install LiveSafe on Yosemite 10.10.2: "Your internet connection is unavailable...or there is a problem with the McAfee server". My internet connection is working just fine. I have contacted McAfee tech support three (3) times since 2/7 and each time I was told there is a problem with the McAfee server. I really can't believe that McAfee would let a server issue persist that long, and I don't see that being discussed here. What is really going on?  Best SR # to look at is 1674505211.

Hi all, I'll try and build a 10.10.2 machine on Monday at work and try and reproduce.

Hi

Could you try disabling TimeMachine while you are downloading and installing LiveSafe. Tech support have seen reported issues with TimeMachine enabled, but when they have downloaded and installed with TimeMachine disabled it seems to work.

Please see this thread for a similar issue

Re: Cannot install LiveSafe on OS X 10.10.2

Finally able to install, with Time Machine enabled!.

However, McAfee icon now has red ! and warns that "your mac is at risk". I just ran an update but red flag still in place. Also, Firewall selection in Mcafee LiveSafe preferences says I'm not connected to a network - clearly wrong. Any ideas?

Then I'll leave it to Rich to answer you further.

Re: Cannot install LiveSafe on OS X 10.10.2

Did you try re-downloading and installing with TimeMachine Disabled?

Tech support have identified an issue installing with TimeMachine enabled as noted here
