ePO 5.10 How are Windows defender av definition updates handled?

Hi all

From a centralised internet isolated, ePO server in a workgroup (2016) of other servers and some clients(Win 10) , how are updates to the virus definitions file sent to the Defender instances on the distributed servers and clients?

Does the McAfee Agent "push" newer versions out to the defender instances or does each defender instance have to check then "pull" any updates form a central server on a regular basis?
