Move 4.8 to 4.8.1 - Does the SVM manager require a new image to be spun up?

I Cannot find any installation guide in the knowledge base, or the product download pages for the correct way to upgrade McAfee Move.from 4.8 to 4.8.1 update 1.

 

As it is not a major update. can you use the SVM manager that came with 4.8.0, or do i need to use the new version 4.8.1 update 1? Does it upgrade for minor versions or do i always need to replace the SVM manager with the newest image?

This is basically client version for the windows 10 (2004).

oes it upgrade for minor versions or do i always need to replace the SVM manager with the newest image?

Replacing it a quick and easier step.

Once done in vcenter then go and check the Option Policy>Duplicate it and assign it to one machine and when the machine start connecting with the new one then you can go to the policy and change the IP address and enter the new one.

In-order to upgrade please make sure that first SVM Manager upgraded and the SVM (All the SVM's in your environment and then the clients).

Clients should always be on lower or equal version as the SVM & SVM Manager.
 
SVMs should always be on lower or equal version as the SVM Manager, but higher or equal version as the client.
 
SVM Manager should always be at the highest or equal version as the SVM & Client.

 

For upgrading the SVM manager we can also use the MOVE Antivirus Deployment Options in ePO >>MultiPlatform>>infrastructure Detail>Create New and provide  the vcenter account details.
 
vCenter details will appear here only if vCenter has been registered in:
 
Menu > under Configuration 'registered Cloud Accounts' > Actions > Add Cloud Account.
