Move 4.8.1 agentless Scan Time Out

Jump to solution

Hello everyone, I wanted to check if anyone encounters similar situation, we have 2 ePO servers, one of the move agentless managed service server, and the whole virtual environment, due to wrong task sva machines were transferred to management on the other epo server that does not have move management components installed, then we experienced slow On all servers in the virtual environment and we saw a high I / O of the scanning machines, we turned off the sva machines we arranged the network and returned the sva machines to the management of the original epo server, meanwhile we issued a report of sva events , and we saw scan time out in several thousand times a thst day , On average there are about 100 such events per day

We also saw that two sva machines have the highest amount of time out events out of all sva servers, the question is - is there a connection between disconnecting from the ePO server or is it a fault in itself? In addition, can such a time-out scan slow down the entire network or is it another matter on our network?

Hi @C_A

This is happening mostly because of the policies are gone from the SVA. There is a task call "MOVE Policy Collector" which has a job of capturing all the specific client policy from EPO and communicate the same to SVA and also to NSX to update the Security Group.

When the machines were moved from one to another EPO that policy assignment went off and all the exclusions also went off. The machines mostly got default policy assigned that time which resulted into the time out situation.

Thanks for the detailed answer, the last assigned policy is the correct policy and there is no move policy on the new server, so no default policy to pull, nevertheless the policy changed even though the policy collect task failed? This means that if there is no communication with the ePO server, then what policy remains in sva?

You can come to know which policy assigned on which machine by looking at oaspolicyaggrt.xml file on the SVA. That is located at /opt/McAfee/move/etc/ location.

Normally you will be having a policy assigned from NSX using the security group. That will take the precedence at that point.
