Meltdown-Spectre and McAfee MOVE Multiplatform compatibility

KB90167 lists  Move Mutli-Platform 3.6 and later as tested and confirmed compatible with Microsoft updates.  My understanding is that the required registry key would've been applied with DAT updates starting on January 10th with DAT 3221.  However, since DAT files are only applied on the offload scan servers which are running VirusScan,  then it seems to me that the registry entry needed for MS update compatibility would NOT have been applied to the actual Move clients.  The DAT is only applied to the offload scan server.  Can anybody confirm this line of logic?  If that is correct, then having Move Multi-Platform 3.6 and later listed as compatible with Windows updates would seem to be misleading and the KB should provide some additional notes about this scenario.
