MOVE SVM best practices question

Jump to solution

My recollection is that best practice is to have a primary and secondary SVM in each vlan where you have VM's, but that was the recommendation when I first started using MOVE MFP in 2014 or 2015.  Has that recommendation changed?  What problems might I have if I'm running Move clients in a vlan that doesn't have any SVM's in it, and the data is being sent to SVM's in a different vlan?

@nashcoop

The purpose of keeping  SVM in same vlan is to avoid any delays during scan requests. As long as the clients (VM's) are able to reach to SVM on required ports and able to send the scan calls, you can have clients and SVM in different vlans.
