MOVE MP 4.8.0 SVM - Does this version require an SVM Mgr for SVM assignment?

Jump to solution

We do not want to connect our vSphere to the ePO system.  Our VDI clients are hosted by 3rd party providers and we have relatively few MOVE VDI client workstations.  Want to avoid the complexity/sprawl  of the SVM Manager if at all possible. I configured the MOVE options policy to assign the SVM manually as in previous 4.6 version.  Doesn't seem to be working and not much info online for simpler deployment.

Is there a supported option for MOVE 4.8 deployment without the SVM Manager?

Thanks,

No 4.8 doesn't require using an svm manager.  setting the options policy to 'assign svm manually' is the proper way to do it when not using the mgr.  if its not working then the client may not have gotten the policy update from epo.  what version of the mcafee agent is installed on the clients?

from one of the clients open an admin command prompt and type

mvadm status

for the primary server line does it show the svm that you want the client to connect to.
