Changed network adapter type - eth0 not found

Hello,

in vsphere we changed our network adapter type from e1000 to vmxnet3 and on startup of the appliance eth0 was not found.

No device eth0 was found.

How do i reconfigure the network to vmxnet3

Any ideas?

Re: Changed network adapter type - eth0 not found

Ok thanks,

just do it nothing happens eth0 still not found.

On the appliance are the vmware-tools 8.6.0 installed.

the vmxnet3 driver is version 1.0.36.0

It seems i must upgrade the vmxnet driver or the vmware tools to version 9

But if i mount the tools i cannot install them because they are installed .

"VMware Tools cannot be installed, since they have already been installed using a package-based mechanism (rpm or deb) on this system. If you wish to continue, you must first remove the currently installed VMware Tools using the appropriate packaged-based mechanism, and then restart this installer. Execution aborted.
