Agentless: Broken Inheritance for VMs changing ESXi Host or restarting.

Jump to solution

Hello.

I observe that VMs being protected by MOVE Agentless NSX fall out protection when that VM changes ESXi Host within the same cluster through vMotion be it manually or DRS.

The Assigned Policies tab for MOVE AntiVirus shows the Broken Inheritance for the VMs.

This list builds up over time.

I can manually reset the Inheritance and so the On Access Scan kicks in again immediately but is there a solution so the VMs stays within inheritance regardless of which ESXi host in that cluster those VMs are running on?

Best Regards

Peter Rasch Lageri

Brainfart on my part.

It makes no sense to have MOVE Antivirus Policies assigned to other machines than a Host since it is through epo <---> NSX <---> MOVE AV VM <---> Guest Introspection <---> VM that the communication flows.

Case closed.

Best Regards
