Re: Windows 10 v1709 / LiveSafe

I had a few extra hours Wednesday / Thursday, so I restored W10 1703 & LiveSafe 'system image'. This time instead of uninstalling McAfee LiveSafe for a major (1709) Windows update (which is recommended by McAfee); I turned OFF these items in LiveSafe > Real Time Scanning, Firewall, Auto Updates, and Scheduled Scans (basically everything I could turn OFF) before all the update downloading. Defender then may have turned ON its firewall, etc.(?).

After 16 hours of >> downloading (1.28 Mbps), installing, more downloading, installing, restarting several times, etc.; I now have W10 1709 and McAfee LiveSafe both working great. I made a new image with 'Backup and Restore (Windows 7)'. Can't wait for the next major Windows 10 update.

Please mark this thread as solved, Thanks everyone for your support.

Re: Windows 10 v1709 / LiveSafe

Done so on your request. I installed 1709 yesterday on the upstairs PC I disabled Real time scanning to be sure.
