Manual update & vulnerability scan not working

Hi

Manual checking for updates - process completes 100% for both "Checking for updates" and "Downloading updates" but does not proceed beyond 0% for "Installing updates". Message displayed - "McAfee cannot update your software. Pls. check your internet connection. If problem continues pls. contact Tech. Support." Internet connection is working properly.

Vulnerability scanner - On attempting to check vulnerability scanner the process does not proceed beyond 0%.

O.S. is Win 10. Any help appreciated.
