Hello @Supidupi
We are working on this issue and we do understand the concern with the security. We would like to reassure that the machine remains protected as the features are enabled and working as per design. McAfee is showing an incorrect alert and this would be resolved very soon.
We will keep this thread posted with updates that we have on this issue.
Thanks for your patience

Just checking in on this issue. McAfee seems to be taking their time with this one. Maybe Mac users aren't a very high priority...? It's really unacceptable for this issue to remain open this long in a paid-for software package, especially one that we depend on for security. They keep saying they're "working on it". I suggest they work harder.
Hi @BobVehorn
We can understand your frustration and we would like to reassure that the your Mac remains protected as all the features are ON and working as per design. You can test McAfee Security functionality using EICAR test. McAfee is showing an incorrect alert and we are working on this to fix as soon as possible. We will update the thread, once we get the update on the fix.
Thank you, the menulet icon no longer displays an alert. However, the software has not performed any automatic updates since 26 Aug. Manual updates appear to be working. I am running Internet Security v4.5.5 (100). Is there a way to enable automatic updates? The software indicates they are enabled, but they are not occurring.
Hi @BobVehorn
It is good to hear that McAfee icon is not showing alert on menulet. Kindly do manual update on McAfee once again and check the status on the new version v4.5.6. If still the exists, try McAfee re-installation. Please refer the article McAfee re-installation: https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/articleview?locale=en-US&articleId=TS100342
