All products currently display this anomaly. Updates should occur normally however, and you can tell by opening the software and clicking About.
As long as it says it is protecting and is green all is OK.
Most of the time the update is actually not happening, it's an interface glitch and a fix is being tested right now and should be released in the coming few weeks.
Please pass on the the good folks at McAfee that it would be a nice feature if the versions of all the components could be copied and pasted.
I would have posted the versions of everything but it's a RPITA to manually transfer that information.
All the best ... Dave
I agree a RPITA and we have suggested it so many times. I guess it's low on the priority list.
In this case version wouldn't matter, this particular annoying bug is "an equal opportunity" pest, effecting most installations.
The fix is in beta as we speak so soon I hope.
There's a new twist to this update issue.
The McAfee icon in my System Tray disappeared after I cancelled the update. It is also not in Show hidden icons.
I went to the Windows 8.1 Start page and clicked on the McAfee icon and was informed that I'm protected.
I assume I'm protected but I'd feel better seeing that icon in my System Tray.
Is this a new issue with the McAfee update?
I'm still having this issue.
Has this been resolved? Do I have to completely uninstall LiveSafe and then reinstall it to solve this?
I'm not really upset but I keep seeing the McAfee icon reminding me that there's an update in progress.
Thanks in advance, Dave
The fix for the appearance of that blue circle over the icon indicating an update is in progress, often a false alarm, is about to be released bu I still have no actual date.
Sorry. It should be soon.
