Hi. We have discovered that LiveSafe on Windows is interfering with my product's installer, which writes files into a temporary directory and then moves that directory (via MoveFileEx) into place. It seems that mcshield.exe is scanning files when our installer tries to move the directory, leading to an access denied error. Is there any way for a product installer to give a hint to LiveSafe that it shouldn't scan temporary files? Alternatively, is there a signal that our installer can wait on to know when the scan is complete so that it can freely move the directory? Thanks.
I am sorry as that is a question that could be answered by someone more knowledgable. Perhaps you can try contacting Technical Support in regards to your issue. https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/contact
Quite possibly this information from Microsoft may give you better insight:MoveFileEx function (Windows) During the interim perhaps one of our Resident Tier 2.5 Engineers\Technicians may pick up this thread, and add to the discussion.
