i have contacted a mod and hope he will respond and assist you to help solve the problem further...........
when there is no response i suggest you to contact live support at;
in the middle of the first page on the right side there is a button to click for contact support and after that a new page will open where you can make your choiches for help.
best is perhaps to do that on working days when chat is also available. they probably need logs ect............
first lets wait and hope the mod i sent a message is responding.......

In order to diagnose and find the root cause our support team will need to collect logs from the affected systems. This could be done on a remote assistance session with our support representatives.

maybe try it another time these days………...
if i click on the link above provided in Kamen answer it opens the German support page.
in the middle on the right side there is a button Support kontaktieren.
next page is to make a choice for the type of support ect.
if you have made contact you could reffer to this community posting what the problem is so they can see what your problem is currently.
hope you can contact live support anytime soon and when that still keeps a problem you let know

was the connection problem from mcafees end you think ?.....
if not maybe one of your other computers could make the connection perhaps ?...
or you could try telling support about this topic in the mcafee community to read and give him/her the custom scan settings you done and wait if they can reproduce the same error you have currently ?...............
