Re: what is the difference between host ips to network ips

Host IPS - monitors process/file/API call/etc activity

Network IPS - monitors (certain) network-level activity, such as TCP/UDP Port scans and other network traffic-related vulnerabilities

In HIPS 8.0, there is more Host IPS functionality than there is Network IPS.  The McAfee Network Security Platform product has much more Network IPS functionality in comparison to HIPS.
