Using HIPS to stop connections to a wireless access point

Jump to solution

Hello

I am curious if anyone knows a good way to prevent a workstation from connecting to a specific wireless SSID (such as ATTWifi).  I could do a connection aware group and tie it to dhcp, dns, etc, but I would rather prevent the workstation from  connecting in the first place.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed.

I do not believe this is possible with the HIPS product.  There are hard-coded rules that will always allow DHCP/DNS traffic, that cannot be removed.  Also, there is no specific HIPS functionaltiy to prevent wireless adapters from connecting to specific access points.
