Hi,

what's the difference between executable and target executable in IPS Rules?

It's similar to a Source (parent process) and Target (child process) executable relationship. 

Example:  When you open Notepad on a system, Explorer.exe is the exectuable that opens notepad.exe.

Executable = Explorer.exe

Target Executable = Notepad.exe
