McAfee Firewall 8.5/Symantec

I have a customer that is seeing this issue:

I have a machine that had McAfee Firewall 8.5 installed on it when they
installed the agent on it.

In the property listing I seen the FW8.5, since then the Admin removed it
and installed Symantec, however my property listing still showing that they
had FW 8.5 installed.

Also my inactive host task is not working for some reason.

Can anyone enlighten me on it?

Is epo still installed on the host? If not, how will the server update status?

Ok, that isn't the problem. The problem is that it's still showing up even after a day or two on the server. Shouldn't it clear itself??? :eek:

The CMA would still be installed, but not the HIPS...

could ePO have installed it again?

Check the deployment task settings

Hi,

I had a similar problem where a user had installed an old (demo ?) version of McAfee Firewall 8.x (or was it VSE 8.x) and then we installed our agent and HIPS and VSE.
The HIPS install failed and the FW8.x didn't get uninstalled.

In the end I had to (manually Smiley Sad)null disable and uninstall all the products except the agent, including cleaning up the registry. After that the agent was able to download and install everything correctly.
