I would ensure you have HIPS 8.0 Patch 4 (build 8.0.0.2919 in the HELP -> ABOUT menu) installed. Open a Service Request with McAfee Support & the ePO team for further assistance.

I'm going to give that a try now. And the rest i will try if this doesn't work.
I did the patch now i'm no longer getting the error
Good to hear! You can also double check to make sure it installed correctly on the client by going to C:\Windows\Temp\McAfeeLogs and looking at the McAfeeHIP8_Hotifx803520.log log file.
We have the same issue on Windows 7-64 bit machines. We are running the following versions:
HIPS 8.0.0.2919 Patch 4
ePO Agent 4.8.0.1500
Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8.0.1247 Patch 4
Everytime a user reboots, we get the dreaded popup McTray application has stopped working.
Hi @Former Member Which patch did you install to get rid off this error?
Hi @Edgar1210,
May I know if you are still facing this issue? We have noticed this issue to be nonexistent in the recent past with the versions released. Please let me know if you need any assistance with the same and I will be glad to work on this for you.
I've the same problem with HIPS 8.0 P4 and ePO agent v4.6 P2
I've upgraded the ePO agent to version 4.8 P1 and it resolved the problem.
We had this problem...applying McAfeeHIP_ClientHotfix2_803520 solved it for us. We have HIPS 8.0 P4 and were at ePO agent 4.6P2 when we had the issue of the McTray.exe faulting on us. Applying that HIPS hotfix fixed that issue for us. Then we upgraded to MA 4.8 P1 and are still good...
