How to install HIPS to non-default location via a client task

Jump to solution

How can HIPS be installed to a D: drive, rather than the default C: drive?

It looks like in the product deployment client task configuration, on the "Configuration" tab, there's a field for "Command line:", which I'm guessing is to add switches to the product deployment task.

What switches would need to be added to install to a custom directory on the D: drive?

It cannot be done via an ePO Deployment task.

KB52586 - How to specify an alternative install location for the McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 7.0 agent

Although, the HIPS 8.0 installer is hard-coded and cannot be modified to install to a different directory.

Thanks.

I was hoping to do it via a client task, but ok, we'll work with that ...
