HIPS in "self protect mode" (help!?)

Hi,

I have a few users where Host IPS doesn't work correctly. Unfortunately I can't remote fix it because it seems HIPS is blocking all network. I have a feeling HIPS reverted to some default settings before getting the new FW rules.

When we tried to uninstall HIPS it said it was in "self protect mode" and there's nothing we were able to do. We tried unlocking the UI but the usual passwords didn't work.

Does anyone have any information about this self protect mode?

thanks
Serge

Latest info : when we try to access the HIPS config window Windows reports the process as not responding... Disabling or stopping the processes through the services.msc didn't work either.

RE: HIPS in "self protect mode" (help!?)

Serge,

Do you know if you changed the default HIPS UI password? PM me if you don't know it, or need it.

I'm not sure about the "self-protect mode"

Oh, nevermind, I didn't realize there is no PM function on this forum.
