HIPS Trusted Networks XLM shows IPv4 address in IPv6

Jump to solution

For those you export ePO Policies as XML, then opens them Excel to help grab data for documenting exclusions or other data for accreditation/certification/inspections,  I found that if you open HIPS Trusted Networks XML policy, it will list all your IPv4 Address you view in the ePO in IPv6 Format.

I found that interesting, and a added step to convert them back into IPv4.  Lucky there was an excel spreadsheet found thanks to google that help this endeavor.

Correct.  There are several IPv6 to IPv4 conversion calculators online, but for manually converting the values, use the last 8 characters.  Convert hex to decimal (e.g. Win10 calculator (Programmer) or others)

<Setting name="+RemoteAddress#1" value="0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:ffff:c0a8:6401"/>

c0 - 192
a8 - 168
64 - 100
01 - 1
