HIPS Causing issues with SCCM 2012 control panel applet

According to one of our windows admins, they said the HIPS client kept SCCM 2012 control panel applet from installing correctly.  They ended up uninstalling HIPS and the mcafee agent to get it installed, so all log files were removed as well.  So I'm just checking to see if anybody has ran into this issue before?

HIPS 8.0

Server 2003

SCCM 2012 client

Agent 4.8

It very well could have blocked the install of the software.

Were the threat events from HIPS sent to ePO before they uninstalled HIPS/Agent? Then you could see the issue & possibly create an exception to prevent it in the future if necessary.

No, the threat events reset themselves after he reinstalled the agent.
