HIPS 8 - Exclude blocked non-IPs from logging?

Jump to solution

Hi all,

The activity logs on our HIPS 8 clients are filling up with messages saying "Blocked Incoming Non-IP Protocol (IPX.)"  I'm sure that this is a misconfigured print server or something, but the incessant log messages are squeezing out more important information.  How can I keep this information from being logged while continuing to block the traffic?

Thanks,

- Steve

You can uncheck the Log All Blocked traffic option in the HIPS Activity log, but it will stop logging of all traffic (unless you have a Firewall rule specifically set to Log Matching Traffic).  You cannot stop logging on just this single event.

Hi Kary,

Thanks for the response - not what I was hoping for, but oh well!
