I have about 2300 machines on HIPS 188.8.131.529 and out of those I can see in ePO that ~20 machines did not upgrade to HIPS 184.108.40.2069 as they should have. Sometimes I am left stuck with HIPS 7 being partially removed and then I have to remove HIPS 7 manually then install 8. Some of the errors I am getting in the McAfeeHip8_Install_220.127.116.119.log include the "MainEngineThread is returning 1603" or I see a "generic Script" error within the McAfee agent. Has anyone ran into this before? If so how did you go about resolving it? I have attached the HIPS 8 installation log,
Thanks in advance.
Please open a Service Request (with MER tool results) to investigate this further. It looks like the HIPS 7.0 NDIS removal failed for some reason.
