HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

Hello,

few years ago I have set HIP and VSE into one McAfee Icon - see below:

Yesterday I have reinstalled the system and I have two separate icons for HIP and VSE - but I want to have one - does anybody know how to do this?

Regards

Pawel

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

- did you install the McAfee-Common-Agent ?

The Agent will collect the icons if you set it by policy.

- Also known there is a timing problem: it can take a while until the Agent-Tray collects the Icons.

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

Saying honestly I have no idea what is: "McAfee-Common-Agent ?"

For sure I have installed "McAfee Agent 4.5"

Yesterday I have installed Windows 7, but before I had Windows Xp (and on win xp I had just one icon). On Windows 7 there are still two icons .. wrrrrrr :-(

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

it's the same,  what i meant.

The McAfee Agent Policy on the ePO-Server : "General" - "General options:" - [_]

must be set.

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

Hi Xenon,

I have searched all menus of my McAfee but I couldn't find "McAfee Agent Policy on the ePO-Server".

What do you mean  "on the ePO-Server"?

I think without picture I can't go trough this :-)

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

In the McAfee Agent policy, you must set the Agent to show it's tray icon.

if you wish to have the HIPS tray icon shown, then enable it's tray icon in the HIPS General ClientUI policy.  If you don't want the HIPS product to show under "Manage Features" (or in that language Zarzadzaj funkcjami) then leave it disabled.

I do not have anything like "Policy catalog" or "McAfee Agent Policy" - see below what I have:

You are on the client system.  The screenshots provided where from the ePO server console.  If you do not have access to this, you'll need to find the person who does in your environment.

Yes - I'm on a client system and I'm sure it is possible to have HIP and VSE under one McAfee icon - beacuse I did it few years ago under Windows XP - but I do not know exactly what have I done.

Re: HIP and VSE in one McAfee Tray icon

And? Do you have any ideas how to achieve just one icon instead of two?
