Export HIPS 8 Firewall Policy with Rule, Group, and Network Catalog for Importing on new ePO

Jump to solution

We have a Firewall that includes many rules, rule groups, and named networks in the HIPS catalog.

When exporting a Firewall rule and importing it to another ePO, rules, groups, or networks that were in the catalog appear in the policy rather than linked to the catalog.     We wish to replicate our current ePO configuration.     If the import is done by first importing the network catalog, then the rules, and then the groups, and lastly the firewall policy, will the links then remain?    Assuming all of the catalogs and the policy have been exported, what is the order of importing that would preserve the policy?

We are not looking forward to editing links to restore the policy.

Hi @ccastbr As long as you export/import the Catalog objects from the previous ePO server to the new one, before you import the HIPS Firewall Rule policies, they should be re-linked back to those same Catalog items.
