Cyber security, Things to know!

I want to talk to you about something which should be considered serious nowadays. It's about online identity theft. It happens when someone steals our personal information for any illegal purpose. There are a number of ways by which this happens to our online banking and other accounts.

Recently, I read an article about the ways we didn't know hackers could steal our identity.

Some of the points to be noted are:

1. They can steal your frequent flyer miles.

2. They can steal your health insurance.

3. They can commit crimes in your name.

4. They can hack your company's chat system.

5. They can take over your social media accounts and impersonate you.

6. They can steal your tax refund.

7. They can hold all of your computer files for ransom.

8. They can open credit card accounts in your name.

But, we don't have to worry much if we have taken the steps to secure ourselves! Some of the steps to follow are:

1. Create Strong Passwords and Update them Frequently.

2. Be Aware of What You Share.

3. Keep Sensitive Personal and Financial Documents Secure.

4.  Protect Your Mobile Device.

5. Check Your Credit Report.

6. Don’t Fall for Phishing Scams.

For more details, you can read the "Tips to Protect Yourself from Identity Theft".

For advanced security measures, we should always consult an expert and never take a risk! And we have a number of companies offering IT security services. We can seek their help if necessary!

Thank you!
