I have many, maybe 1/3rd of the iOS devices, listed in EMM with Pending Actions. Many of the ones listed with Pending Actions have the same date and time for PushNotification on 4/10. Any ideas for what the cause of this is?
i have this issue as well. it looks like a pending action is "stuck" in being sent or recieved. makes me think that i'm not actually in control of that device anymore. i have a call logged with mcafee, but nothing so far. are you getting any weird event viewer items?
Can you verify that the MDM profile is installed on devices with "stuck" pending actions? On the idevice, go into the Settings app, tap general, tap profiles and tell me if you see the Mobile Device Management and the Enterprise Activation profiles.
Yep MDM profile is installed. from the user's point of view, everything is working fine. they get their mail (send/recieve) but from the console, if you tried to query or send a "lock device" command, it doesn't do anything and sits in the pending actions list.
i have about 122 out of 177 with "pending" issues. like i said, the user thinks everything is fine. we as admins don't seem to have as much control.
And the other 55 are also iOS devices or are they another type of device? Just need to rule out the simple stuff.
Also, Do the devices show up as compliant in the EMM console? what happens if you log into the emm app and try to update configuration on one of the non-working devices?Message was edited by: mat.kordell on 5/16/12 7:32:21 PM CDT
some are ios, 10 or so are android. we have Compliance Setting (Compliance Enforcement) set to disabled. for ALL devices it says compliant = No, but that could just be because we have the setting disabled. if i change the policy to say "disallow itunes" it adds it to the pending list... and nothing happens.. not sure if it "might" happen after time, but the pending list has items from 15th May(push notification) still sitting there, so not sure it will happen anytime soon..
So is it only iOS that are failing to sync pending actions?
Can you PM me a copy of the emm event logs from both servers along with the device id for a couple of the effected devices. You can get the device if from the emm console helpdesk page.
it's weird... i have these push notifications stuck in pending and on the proxy server (we have enhanced mode) i have trust digitial activesync issues. wonder if they are related...? mcafee support doesn't seem quick in replying with solutions...
