I do know there is a procedure to delete email, contacts, and calendar data from an iPhone, but keep all other software, profiles, Exchange configurations, and applications intact, however I do not know if it selective based on how old the email is and/or automatic.
I do know you can wipe devices if it is not used for period of time or if there are a certain number of failed login attempts.
What I am interested in knowing is if EMM can delete email messages from a device (ipad) after specified amount of time?
I did not see anything in the Admin Guide about this.
In fact, by default when you provision an iOS device by default you will only sync 3 days worth of mail to your provisioned mailbox. If you wish to keep more (or all) of your mail you can change the settings in:
Home / Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / EMM Mailbox / Mail Days to Sync - change this to whatever value you want or even choose "No Limit"
The control of this is down to the user of the iPad, at this time I am not sure if can be enforced centrally.
I hope this helps.
