Windows 2016 is essentially a version of Windows 10 which already has support for the majority of Mcafee product(s).

I have tested the Agent and VSE functionality and will be testing HIPS etc at a later date.

DC Build version tested - Latest 2016 build available; 14383.rs1_release.160915-0644

I have tested the following from EPO 5.3.0 Build 400 against Windows 2016;

  • Auto deploy of Agent v5.0.4.283 (64bit) from EPO task - Functional
  • Manual install of Agent v5.0.4.283 (64bit) - Functional
  • Auto deploy/install of VSE v8.8.0.1599 from EPO task - Functional
  • Manual install of VSE v8.8.0.1599 - Functional

Agent functionality is there, present and the cmdagent /s GUI functions as desired.

Collect & Send Props - Functional

Send Events - Functional

Check & Enforce Policies - Functional

Agent Communication Intervals Correct

VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) functionality is present in the version tested v8.8.0.1599;

Managed policies tested, multiple custom policies put in place all functioned

Managed tasks collected correctly and function correctly

Auto Update task functions as desired

Scanning system functions correctly

DATs, Extra DATs are pulled correctly

Auto Tag functions correctly

EPO reports the operating system type as the following;

OS TypeWindows Server 2016
Operating SystemOS Type:Windows Server 2016,OS Platform:Server,OS Version:10.0
OS PlatformServer
OS Version10.0
OS Build Number14393

All the system information is polled correctly and was able to sort easily with the OS type value for testing purposes.

I cannot report any unusual anomalies in my testing.  Everything is behaving as expected.
Although I cannot see any official information to confirm this is 100% supported, I would imagine very little needs doing from Intel/Mcafee's side of things.  Maybe some additional reporting customization and that's it really.

Anything else you want me to test, let me know.  Currently doing further testing which is just specific to my use case, but let me know if you need anything in particular.   I would imagine the requirements for agent version 5.0.2+ are needed here as it has fixes etc for Windows 10.

Hi,

In my environment we have agent 5.0.2 and VSE 8.8 patch 6.

Can I able to download the higher version products from download site and install it?

Can the lower version extension will manage the higher version products?

Otherwise, what version products I can install on the 2016 server? This is the first server I am building with 2016 OS in our network.
