I am implementing ePO 4.5 in my organisation. I have installed the oPS server in my domain, on a member server (not a DC, as suggested by McAfee). I am working remote so I don't have fysical access to the users' workstations. (Yes, I can but when I travel).
I know that the Windows XP SP3 Firewall is blocking installation of the Mcafee agent so I have opened some ports on some "test" workstations. This is done by Group Policy on the domain controller. When I call a user by phone, it is confirmed that some ports are excluded from the firewall. Yet I am not able to install the McAfee Agent on these workstations.
The ports I have opened are 8081 TCP, 8081 UDP, 8082 TCP, 8082 UDP, 8444 TCP and 8444 UDP. (Found in a discussion elswhere on the internet).
Of cource I have googled for my problem but have not found the solution.
Can anybody give me the solution?
Some information: From a Command prompt on the server, I can ping the workstation by name. This is because I also opened echo requests on the workstation by the GroupPolicy, and this shows that DNS is oke.
The workstation is a computer which is registered in the active directory. So the credentials I used to install the agent are domain administrator, so I have full access to the workstation. As far as I know File and Printer sharing is not enabled on the users' workstation. McAfee VSE 8.7i already installed on worksation (before ePO was in use).
