Securing Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop

Hi there,

Has any of you experience with securing Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop - "Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session images"?

What is the best product for it?
Is anyone using McAfee Endpoint Security for it.

We've got an on premise McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator environment.

Many thanks

Re: Securing Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop

Hello @ezim,

ENS can be installed on Windows virtual desktop. To check all the compatible versions of ENS kindly follow : https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB82761

Using your active grant you can download the Endpoint Security from McAfee Download Site : https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/my-products.html

Re: Securing Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop

Thank you @tshamim for your response.

We are currently using ENS 10.6 in our on environment.

I wasn't sure though about the "Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session images" when hosted externally on Azure cloud.

I have also heard "McAfee MOVE AntiVirus" and "McAfee MVISION Endpoint" MVISION Cloud mentioned.

Are they better alternatives?

Thank you

Re: Securing Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop

Hello @ezim,

Can you run them?  Most likely.  From what I've read, it's just a cloud-hosted, server-like instance of Windows 10.
Is it supported?  Not likely.  For that, we would have had to test our software on the OS, which in this case, is very new.

There may also be technology restrictions.  For example, per KB82761, ENS does support Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session, but Enhanced Write Filtering (EWF), Unified Write Filter (UWF), and File-Based Write Filtering (FBWF) technology is not supported.
